Welcome to Defence Watch

Our aim is to assist Defence Industry better understand the Australian Department of Defence, by offering various events and information, We'll occasionally also include feature articles that are particularly relevant to our clients.   We hope you find the site useful.

Since the Defence Efficiency Review and the introduction of the Defence Reform Program in 1997, the Australian Department of Defence has undergone major restructure.  Indeed the Department is continuing to refine the organisation. C3I has been conducting Defence Watch briefings since 1997 to assist the Defence Industry to better understand these changes and how they affect the way they conduct their business with Defence.

C3I runs these seminars in Canberra, approximately every  month, with presentations from Senior Defence Executives and Star Level Officers.  In July 2005, the then Defence Minister, the Hon Senator Robert Hill,  approved Defence's involvement with Defence Watch. Details of sponsorship for these briefings are available on request.

Some of the changes, in areas such as acquisition, industry policy, governance, risk management, performance based contracting, contractual obligations, etc., require more in-depth attention.
As a logical extension to the Defence Watch briefings, C3I offers a series of one or two days workshops designed to achieve a better understanding of how these changes will affect your dealings with the Defence Department and how to better understand the Defence environment.C3I has assembled a group of specialist presenters who, along with presenters from specific areas within Defence, and industry, will provide professional training in  their particular areas of expertise.
